General News & Announcements - 4th Quarter 2010
(December 28, 2010)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On December 16, 2010, Brother Kerry Watson after careful deliberation announced that he was stepping down from his position as 2nd Vice President of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 89. Brother Watson has been afforded an opportunity that he could not pass up. For purely selfish reasons, I am saddened by his departure. However, the opportunity he has been presented with I believe will not only be beneficial to him but also this organization.
Vice President Watson served in an exemplary capacity and represented this organization in outstanding fashion. He has always placed the needs of this membership above his own and for that he should be commended. It has been a privilege to work alongside him and the Board of Directors wish him well in his future endeavors.

Brothers and Sisters,
WCSO Corporal Craig Ashley has lost his house due to a fire today. The family is currently staying in a hotel until further arrangements can be made. Anyone interested in making donations, either monetary or clothing related, may phone a board member to make arrangements to get the items to Craig and his family. Any clothing for the children would be helpful. Both are girls, Madison is 8 yrs. old and Sophia is 6 months. Any questions concerning donations, please contact a board member. Donations can also be sent to FOP #111, P.O. Box 1450, Salisbury, MD 21802.
Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer our fellow FOP member.
Fraternally
Hal Phillips
State Trustee
FOP Lodge 111
UPDATE - 12/28/10:
Community response in Wicomico County was overwhelming. Cpl. Ashley received an overabundance of toys and household items for him and his family. As a result, donations of toys, clothes, and household items are not needed at this time. Monetary donations are still being accepted and are greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in making a monetary donation can either bring them to the Lodge 89 Business Office or mail them directly to FOP Lodge 111 at P.O. Box 1450, Salisbury, MD 21802. All checks should be made out to FOP Lodge 111 and include Cpl. Ashley's name in the memo section. Thank you all for your support!
